This shot was with a 17mm Nagler at the eyepiece of my 13.1" F4.5.

Using a 27mm Panoptic.

Here's a couple of shots with my personal 13.1" F4.5 telescope using a hand-held point 'n shoot Nikon camera at the eyepiece.

A "point 'n shoot" camera shot of Saturn taken through Hitesh's 16" F4.5. You can just make out
Cassini's Division. Through the eyepiece, the image was excellent -- especially considering
the "seeing" this evening. All in all, a VERY nice telescope.

16" F4.5 Truss Telescope for Hitesh D.
in Santa Clara California.

for Hitesh D in Santa Clara California is virtually complete. The primary and secondary are 1/16-wave JMI optics. The spider is an observatory grade Destiny curved-vane. The primary mirror sits on an 18-point flotation all aluminum mirror cell optimized with Plop.
An interesting feature is the Moonlite filter-slide seen under the Moonlite 2" 2-speed focuser. A Sky Commander digital setting circle is also installed.

Rocker box for 12" Lightbridge.

Now complete and ready for packaging and shipping for Bob F in Ft. Myers Florida is a rocker box for a 12" Lightbridge telescope. Bob asked for a DSC (digital setting circle) stalk for his Sky Commander.

The entire assembly only weighs 20.5# and measures approximately 17"x17"x16" (to the bottom of the alt bearing "curve".

The DSC stalk (center support) measures 30".

Hitesh's 16" F4.5 nears completion.

The 16" F4.5 for Hitesh in the Bay Area is near completion. Here, the scope has been placed in the rocker box to be sure of the fit and function. All is working well. I need to complete the ground board and some other final touches -- including the DSC stalk.

The dew shield and primary mirror are on the table just to the left.

So, stay tuned!!

16" F4.5 for Hitesh in Santa Clara California.

Work continues on Hitesh's 16" F4.5 telescope. The truss OTA is completed. Note that the wood mirror cover is still in the varnish-drying stage and not installed. The removable dew shield is to the right of the photo.

Note the "filter slide" under the Moonlite focuser. This allows up to 3 filters to be installed and swing into the field-of-view anytime the observer wishes to use one. The secondary hasn't been installed as yet.

Construction continues on Hitesh's 16" F4.5 telescope.  The black "Truss blocks" are on the top ring. The removable dew shield is in place

16" F4.5 mirror and 18-point flotation mirror cell for
Hitesh's telescope.

This is the 18-point mirror cell before  being attached to the rear of the mirror. You can see the black "dot" in the center of the mirror so the cell can be aligned correctly. The blue masking tape holds the cell components in place and will be removed. The mirror cell has  been optimized  with Plop and is made from 1/4" aluminum plate.

Upper Tube Assembly for 17.5" F4.5 telescope

I've been working on a 17.5" F4.5 for Brian in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, Here's a picture of the UTA (upper tube assembly). The telescope is coming along nicely.

Here you can see the Moonlite 2-speed, 2" focuser in place. The spider is an observatory grade curved-vane  Destiny.

The finder-board still needs to be added.

A 13.1" F4.5 for William in Novi Michigan.

Just completed is a 13.1" F4.5 with a Coulter primary and secondary mirror. The optics have new coatings and perform nicely under the stars. Note the Sky Commander and dew shield. The focuser is a nice 1-speed 2" crayford. A red dot finder is mounted on the top strut for aligning the Sky Commander.
This is the rear view of William's telescope. The mirror
cell is a hybrid of Baltic birch with an all aluminium
6-point flotation support system.
