A Note From One of My First Customers . . .

A note from Jon in San Diego, California.
For those of you who don't know Dennis, he is the man behind Dobstuff. If Lister wanted to convert his 14.5 inch to a strut or truss scope, Dennis could provide a kit or do the conversion.

I bought a kit from Dennis 12 years ago to convert my 16 inch Meade into a strut scope. I think it was one of the very first Dennis sold. Over the years his scopes have developed just as mine has slowly changed.

It's been a good scope and think there are very few 16 inch scopes one could hoist up more than 5 feet into the overhead bunk of a motor home.

A 12.5" rocker box . . .

While I work on the 10" F8.9 long focus telescope I
often have time to slip in other work. Here's a
rocker box for John nice 12.5" telescope.
A beautiful telescope on an EQ mount. John wants
to use it on a "dob mount" every now and then.

A Long Focus 10" Truss Telescope . . .

Whoa! Here's a 10" F8.9 -- a loooong telescope under construction for Sheldon in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. The choice of a "truss" telescope, given the length of the OTA, was a good idea!!

The OTA is 83.5" in length...
Coming along is the mirror box for
Sheldon't 10" F8.9. the altitude bearings
are 22" in diameter. Just right!!

The rocker box . Yet to add holes and
varnish -- but it's looking good.

Note the "top strut". Strong and light.
