12" F4.9 for Carl is complete . . .
Now complete is a 12" F4.9 for Carl T. in Ledyard, Connecticut |
Here, you can see the "tandem finder mount", focuser and focuser baffle. The "white wire" is from the secondary dew heater. |
The primary is held in position by a 9-point flotation mirror cell. A dew shield is included. |
The "strings" for the strut-telescope add considerable rigidity to the OTA. there is no flex evident. |

A 12" and 17.5" telescope . . .
Carl T's 12" F4.9 strut telescope. With the Altitude Bearings affixed, the Rocker Box is taking shape. |
Chris H., from Ridgefield CT., received and setup his 17.5" truss telescope. Here's he's affixed "wheel barrow" handles to more easily move around this BIG telescope!! Nice. |
All set up and ready to go . . . |
The eyepiece height is about 86" -- so a step-ladder does the trick. |
