A Visit and a New Project . . .

A very enjoyable visit from Kevin, who drove in from Peoria,
Arizona, to pick up his custom rocker box for his telescope.
The 8" F4.9 telescope, sporting a Royce primary, fits just right!!

Underway is a 10" F8.9 truss telescope for Sheldon in
Greencastle, Pennsylvania. Given the focal length, the truss
telescope configuration makes a lot of sense. More to follow.

Completed rocker box for Kevin in Peoria, AZ.
Note the Sky Commander.

The slightly over-size ground board for
greater stability.

The 10K encoders make finding objects
an easy task. Easy alignment of the Sky
Commander too.

What's the BEST Telescope??

A 10" F3.9 optic for my personal telescope made by Nova Optical
and coated by Optical Wave Labs. That's "Cary" in the photo...

10" F3.9 Ronchigram from Nova Optical .

They say the BEST telescope is the one you use the most. For me, it turns
out, is a 10" F4 based around an Orion astrograph optic. I decided to have
Nova make me a mirror for this -- the one I use most often...

A Note from Bob at the Okie Star Party . . .

Hi Dennis.

The scope was great at the Okie-Tex star party.  I didn't have a shroud on her so a lot of people came by and asked about it, its design and where it came from.  I looked at probably 30-40 objects while out there and the scope always performed well.  Here is a pic from the event. Take care..
